For head diameters of 3 mm and above, Optecon silver-faced copper rivets are the cheapest form of rivet contact. Whilst certain sizes are available from stock, specials can be produced in minimum quantities of 80,000.

Fine Silver, Matthey D54X (10% cadmium oxide-silver), Matthey D510 (10% nickel-silver) and alloys of high silver content can be manufactured in this form.

The mechanical strength and the electrical and thermal integrity of the bi-metal bond are   excellent, so that an Optecon contact can usually be used for the same rating as an equivalent soild contact rivet.
